Baby, you're a Beautiful Mess

Alright, lets face it our world has gone from formal to completely casual. Black jeans are the new slacks, tunic shirts are the new dresses. I must admit, my personal favorite... is it a shirt or a dress? No, bitch... it's a shirt by day, dress by night, problem? Messy hair, oh my next favorite. I mean honestly, in cities like New York & San Francisco, the wind blows through and I just cannot be bothered with dealing with brushing my hair every two seconds. That alone would stress me out beyond belief, my fingers are my hair brush. I mean don't all the boys love the "just had sex hair?" I think so. Stop worrying about all the little shit that clouds your thoughts, live and let live. Be who you are and just be. Your handbag doesn't validate you, your $1000 Dior patent leather stilettos don't either. Love, that's all I need. That's all you need too.

Panda Kunst

Panda Kunst (Panda Art) was created to make fun, different, cultural, humorous t-shirts. The t-shirts are 100% cotton and well constructed with a fitted cut. The shirts use poetry, humor and absurdity to bring freshness. These shirts are sweat shop free and made in Los Angeles, California.

The t-shirt to the left is apart of the Manifesto Collection and costs $35.

If you're looking to make a statement the Manifesto Collection can definitely help you out with that. I'm sure the shirt that says, "Thank God I'm an atheist" we'll make some noise on the street. Hah.

Moss Signs New Topshop Deal

For some of you who don't know Topshop, it's a London retailer similar to H&M. Kate Moss has a collection there and word on the streets is, it's there to stay.

Topshop said that they have in fact locked a deal with the supermodel to continue with her collection. Moss will keep designing her Kate Moss for Topshop Collection, she has thus far produced 8 collections for the London retailer since she joined forces with Topshop in 2006.

Definitely looking forward to seeing her next line for Topshop. Just wish they'd bring Topshop over here to America. It's bound to happen, right? I mean H&M is here...

1950's Pinup Model Bettie Page Dies

Bettie Page known for setting the stage for the sexual revolution of the 1960's died last night in LA.
Page was put on life support last week after having a heart attack in her Los Angeles home. She never was able to regain consciousness, said her agent, Mark Roesler. Page's family agreed to remove life support. Shortly before her heart attack she was hospitalized for 3 weeks with pneumonia.
Page caught the attention of magazine photographers all over with her womanly figure in bikinis and see-through lingerie. She quickly became tacked up on the walls in all military barracks, garages and elsewhere, where they remained for years on end.
In other news, current trends for the season due to recession: Sans the clothes. Artsy, poor and butt naked is so in!

Drinkability: CHAOS Magazines Winter Mulled Wine

Warm up this holiday season with a nice glass of mulled wine called Glögg, if you're Swedish and Glühwein, if you're German.
Now keep in mind, this is how I learned to make this version of Glögg, it will definitely get your party a little "loose" so be prepared. Remember there are several versions of Glögg, with and without hard alcohol or without any alcohol involved, but that's never fun.

This will make you approximately one gallon of Glögg:

*Bottle of red wine ( Merlot or Cabernet, either work just fine)
*Bottle of Port wine (You want a young Port for Glögg, anything under 3 years)
*Bottle of Brandy or Whiskey (Don't do Vodka, Gin, or Tequila, if you're doing it, do it do it right!)
*10 cinnamon sticks
*2 dozen whole cloves
*One whole orange peel
*One tablespoon of Cardamom seeds
*1 cup blanched almonds
*2 cups of sugar

Keep in mind you do not want to use an aluminum pan, as this will screw up the taste. You want to use a stainless pot. Do not over boil, it takes time keep the heat on low or you will ruin it, just pay attention. Enjoy

Dance Like No One's Watching

How does rocking out in the nude sound? Not realistic in most urban areas unless you plan on getting gang raped in the corner of Marquee, or better yet, kidnapped by two guys and never to be found. That's a true story too, happened recently. Creeeeeepy. Though I am pretty sure she wasn't wearing this dress, so rest assure. Yikes! One nights stands are risqué, I mean you can't possibly find out if the hot model dude you're talking to isn't a complete psychotic lunatic in the span of 2-3 hours. All right, moving on...

How often do you get to dance around naked without getting uh, arrested? Yea, we don't do it. Well, maybe you would if you're on acid and at some hippie gathering called Burning Man (sorry) other than that, you'll probably be arrested. If you still want to let loose you can dance naked. Well, in this completely rad super sexy 100% silk dress by Vena Cava's Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai. This one is definitely a true collector's piece, you want it in your closet. The dress comes with printed hang tags together with edition number. Nude in color, slight cap sleeve, and obviously a nude female image, both from side and backside. Yea baby, you're naked all around! Sorta reminds me of those terrible swim suit cover ups you see older women wearing at the beach, yea,  you remember? Hah! This however, is more sexy and on a completely different level, I think I might rock it just to see the effect I'd have walking around the Meat Packing on a Tuesday night.

Black Rats Leggings!

Sass & Bide, oh how we love thee! Remember these shinny ruched leggings that hit the runway in their Fall 2008 show? They were not even supposed to be released to the public but caused such a frenzy, from New York to Australia they started production.  Hey, I guess when you want something bad enough all you have to do is demand it! That is just what the public did and how nice of Sass & Bide to listen. These leggings are a must have, and let me tell you, SUPER hard to track down. They sell out just as fast as they stock them.  Despite their intentions, Sass & Bide struck gold with their "Rats Leggings". Yep, that is what they're called, after all they look a little rat tail-ish. They definitely turned out to be quite the hot commodity. These rad leggings will set you back about $145, a little more than your regular legging, but hey, all your friends will definitely be jealous.

It's A Peace Treaty

Winter is in full effect, even if the first snow may not have fallen in NYC, the temperature has DROPPED over night. This means time to bundle up, well, that is if you ever plan on leaving the apartment. Wrap your neck up with this scarf by A Peace Treaty, hand-knotted tassels, hand-loomed 100% cotton and measures about 42 inches. The colors are perfect for brightening up our regular dark winter clothing, charcoal, plum, coral red, yellow, and teal with tila yarn detailing. The colors tend to fade into each other making each scarf a little different. How is that for one of a kind?

Chronicles of Never

The Aussies do it again, another dope brand pops up from down under. If you haven't heard of this brand, CHAOS is very happy to introduce you to Chronicles Of Never. Chronicles Of Never by Gareth Moody and a reference to Neverland started in 2006 doing jewelry, shoes and clothing for both men and women. The brand is influenced by architecture and geometric shapes and tends to be very angular, solid and masculine, definitely well suited for men. Even though most women may pass them by, the garments for the ladies look absolutely stunning on the frame of a women. The colors tend to stay strong, giving you an old meets new feel, even though the pieces are anything but old. The choice of colors influences the old and new feeling, as they tend to go for blacks with brass tones rather than the shinny gold look. Also, instead of polished silver they like brushed silver giving a nice pewter tone.

The "Skeleton Key Boot", shown in the image, is actually a unisex boot and just as popular with the men as it is with the women. This leather lace up boot has a sturdy 1 inch heel and pieced toe cap, black leather sole and leather inner lining, nice detail. This is a great winter boot that can transition throughout the seasons, get this one before it's gone.

For The Boy!

If you're looking for something cool to get the boyfriend for Christmas but not quite sure, check out Oak NYC. Doing the whole photo and frame thing is cute and all but lets be a little original here and get the man something he really wants. Maybe a few rad t-shirts? You can't go wrong there, well, that is if you know your boy.

Oak NYC is really cool, you can find some dope stuff on there. Trust me, your shopping basket will not be filled up with gifts for just him, you definitely won't be able to check out without a little something for yourself. They have some rockin' Pink Floyd, Joy Division, Blondie and Ramone tees for under $50, so how is that for a steal?

Hippie Tam Hat aka The Rasta Hat

You might have noticed people wearing these interesting over-sized looking beanies. Well, let me tell you, they are not called beanies. They are in fact called Tams, more widely known as the Rasta hat. Normally the best are handmade and can cost a pretty penny if you're lucky enough to find them. However, I've found a great place online that sells them and they're pretty cheap, Purple Sage Designz check them out. They have have them in several different styles as well as knit tams and crochet. Many of the hats on the site are made of 100% all natural hemp. You can also specifically request certain colors and yarn types to have your own one of a kind tam hat. Makes a pretty cool gift for any earthly hippie friend, or hey even a nice one for yourself.

Lego Mini Stereo Dock for iPod

Okay so Marc Jacob's didn't actually design this but he might have inspired it. Maybe you remember Marc Jacob's Spring 2008 show where he had legos as belt buckles and barrettes. Who would have thought it would have moved over into the world of MP3's? Looks as though it has. These colorful blocks of mini speakers can be bought at Pylones and actually run off the power from your iPod. Don't be put off by their small size because in this case these little guys actually have a lot of power. Normally, and in ALL cases except this one, size would matter, but these little legos pack a lot of punch for their size. If you can't decide on a color get them all you can start uh, building your own sound wall.

Mad For Plaid

There's a reason plaid rhymes with rad. Every designer seems to have gone mad for plaid this season. Why? Well, I'm not sure but, isn't it always a little sexy to see a guy chopping wood in a flannel jacket? Whoa, okay, seriously, no pun intended. Bottom line, plaid is rad! I guess you never thought the whole lumber jack style would ever be "of fashion" but hey, times are changing. The Paul Bunion look is definitely in, I've seen the boys sporting the plaid shirt look, and I'm not going to lie, I like it. Keep rocking it boys, even go a little crazy and get some plaid pants, just don't lose your mind and wear them with the plaid flannel. A little plaid goes a long way, choose your pieces wisely.

Boys & Girls and Girls & Boys- Crossing the Gender Line

So we've already stolen our "boyfriends jeans" and rightfully so, they steal ours! We are a culture where cross-dressing is accepted pretty much across the board. I mean, we have basically blurred the gender lines all to hell. Why not steal our mans dress shirts. I love a nice plaid mens shirt with leggings and boots. Or better yet, your boyfriend's over-sized blazer. After all I'm sure he won't be wearing it much anymore for that finance job. Oops, he lost it in the economic meltdown, I do apologize.

Maybe you're wondering when it become cool to steal your boyfriends clothes? I am pretty sure it was well before this time, but I do remember vividly Balenciaga taking us there in his Fall 2007 Collection with shrunken schoolboy blazer. Now, switching it up a bit we have gone to the over-sized blazer. Moving from your little brothers prep school uniform to your boyfriends work wardrobe. Even down to the oxford shoes, sadly... that's going to be a tough one to steal from the boyfriend. Hmm do those black and whites come in my size?

Chris Mendoza Paints on Ray Bans!

Maybe you have grown sick of everyone and their mom sporting those good old Ray Bans that your grandpa/dad was rockin' in the 1950's and then again in the early 80's. I mean shit, we can get them in basically every color under the sun. Could someone come up with something new? Well, maybe not a new rad style but, someone did come up with a way to take the Ray Bans to the next level. Not possible? Possible. Sunglass Hut/Ray Bans have teamed up and started an artist series, and New York City based painter Chris Mendoza is creating some buzz. Mendoza is doing what some would say hip-hop meets subway graffiti throw in a little South American flava and you've got a pretty dope update on the played out Ray Bans.

If you're still not rushing out the door to buy your newly updated Ray Bans, know that this is a gift to yourself that is also giving back. 25% of the proceeds go to the 'Give The Gift Of Sight' charity that gives glasses to those who are in need. This should give you a little piece of mind when you drop $250 on these bad boys. Don't miss out! These are sure to go fast, get them before the Olsen Twins do!

Stockholm Winter Style Shot

Here is a shot straight from the streets of Stockholm Sweden. From a country who is used to very frigid winters, they show us cold weather doesn't mean you need to leave your sense of style at home. We love the whole color scheme going on here, the winter white scarf and hat with matching socks, black coat and then a splash of color with the purple tights. The Mary Jane shoes finish this look making it ultra feminine and adorable.
If you're in a cold climate don't put all of your cute dresses away for the winter. Some dresses can still be worn in the winter, you just need to add tights and socks. Done deal! :)

Chaotic News: Art Director Deported from Antigua, West Indies!!!

Oh the CHAOS!!! Just a little inside information on our Art Director, Adam. Adam, normally works from his boat, floating around from one tropical island to another, we call him the "CHAOS Pirate!" However, 3 days ago Adam was missing in action. We were unable to get a hold of him, definitely out of the norm. We at CHAOS were wigging out because Internet Explorer was messed up, and the only person able to fix that is Adam. Yesterday, we got a call from Adam and found out what had happened to him over the past 3 days and why he was incommunicado. Adam was in a 3rd world jail in the West Indies, sitting there for 31 hours, obviously with no communication capabilities. How is that for something chaotic? We won't go into why our awesome pirate was deported from the West Indies, but we can definitely tell you it was due to his pirate ways and... well... maybe some Bermuda black rum. :)
The good news is our Pirate has returned safely to Manhattan and his boat did not sink. He is back in action and Internet Explorer is fixed! For those of you who use Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Opera there are no issues whatsoever.
