With Thanksgiving out of the way, it’s finally time to blast that holiday music, so pop Home Alone into your DVD player, and start gorging on Christmas cookies. (Hey, calories don’t count over the holidays, right?) Just know you aren’t the only one getting into the holiday spirit. Designer Betsey Johnson is already making the season especially bright — as if you would expect anything less from the bedazzling boutique queen. The fashion icon was tapped by the Plaza Hotel in New York City to design their first-ever Christmas tree, which Johnson debuted with a tea ceremony on Monday night. Her creation — an 18-inch tree totally covered in hot-pink feathers, sparkly tinsel, and decorative paper dolls — will be on display until Jan. 4.
While Day-Glo decorations are clearly Johnson’s aesthetic, she also sought inspiration from one of the Plaza’s most famous residents (no, not Charlie Sheen): Eloise, the fictional children’s book character who, to the envy of almost every little girl, lived on the hotel’s top floor in the eponymous book series. The famously frilly and feminine Johnson has already shown that she’s quite a fan of this spunky children’s character. After presenting a fashion show at the Plaza in 2009, the designer-cum-interior decorator took on the task of creating an Eloise-themed suite — another elaborate, pink concoction — for the hotel in 2010. There’s no doubt fellow girly-girl Eloise would be turning cartwheels if she saw Johnson’s creations— after all, the designer admitted that three quarters of her is still six years old as well.

Holiday Party Dresses
Whatever dress you'll be donning, here are a few tips:
1. Stay warm with cozy tights and sexy booties.
2. Showing some skin? Top your dress with a beautiful, long winter coat.
3. Since your dress will be doing most of the work, go easy on the accessories.
4. There's no better time for a stand out manicure than the holidays.
5. Up-swept hair looks polished and sexy.
6. Go easy on the eye makeup and try a bright red lipstick.

Complement Your Booties
As the cold weather makes its way into the spotlight, it's no surprise that flats and open-toed everything will be replaced with anything, especially the season's sexy new trend: booties. The thing about these fashionable foot warmers is that they're quite tricky when deciding what to pair them with to get the look just right. That being said, we did a little dirty work to keep your booties looking tight.
If you're looking to achieve a classic look, combine a pair of black suede booties and a bright cable-knit sweater with black skinny jeans. This combination is key to looking chic.
To mix that class act with an edgy vibe, combine an oversized blazer with a pair of buckled booties (also black) and you'll be sending a mysterious signal of style and suspense before you know it.
For a much more relaxed, yet modern aura, it's best to wear a blazer (this time fitted) over a plaid button-down. The finishing touch will go to your feet: black, high-heeled booties. Simple, yet still chic.
Have a bootie-ful winter!

Peace, Love, and Shibori
Largely associated with the sixties hippie movement, tie-dye continues to be popular in present day. While the bold print is a major symbol of hippie fashion, you don’t need to be one to appreciate dyed duds. Brooklyn-based clothing brand Upstate is dedicated to art of dyeing fabric and offers a refined collection of textiles that are unlike the psychedelic prints of the sixties.
Originating in Japan, Shibori is a traditional method of hand dyeing, which was practiced centuries before the hippie movement. Using various techniques with the fabric, such as binding, folding, and compressing, the Shibori approach produces simple yet interesting patterns. Upstate complements Shibori style with their own touches that generate ethereal combinations of pattern and color.
The process of hand dyeing makes it nearly impossible to replicate an identical pattern from piece to piece. However, rather than this being a flaw, it’s a strength since each pattern is unique and results in one-of-a-kind pieces. Each piece is also extremely versatile and can be worn as clothing or an accessory. For example, their selection of sarongs can also be worn as scarves, and their handkerchiefs can be worn as head wraps or “cloth bracelets,” as seen in their spring 2012 collection. Essentially, purchasing one piece can yield many types of wear.
Upstate proves that tie-dye can be subtly chic by offering delicate alternatives to the powerful prints of hippie subculture. Check out their collections here.

McQ, McCartney Set For London Fashion Week
While Stella McCartney will continue to display her collection in Paris for fall 2012, she is also planning to unveil a one-off collection at London Fashion Week in February. As the creative director for Adidas Team GB, McCartney has designed the collection as a courtesy to the 2012 London Olympic games (having created Britain's Olympic athletes' uniforms).
Alongside of her will be Alexander McQueen's McQ label, also set to present its fall 2012 collection at London Fashion Week. This will serve as a preview to McQ's first store, which will open in London's Mayfair next spring.
That being said, lots of new, exciting projects are to be revealed at London Fashion Week! Only a few months until the seemingly bright promises of the new year. Looking forward?

Clutch War: Bottega Veneta vs. McQueen
Last month, we highlighted Bottega Veneta’s iconic Knot clutch, as it was reinvented for the brand’s fall 2011 collection. The handbag, with its boxy silhouette and simple closure, is unique to the brand. However, Bottega Veneta is not the only fashion powerhouse who celebrates this shape as the perfect purse. Alexander McQueen also shares the same formula for simple luxury with the brand’s line of box clutches for next season.
Under the creative direction of Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen’s spring 2012 collection includes an exciting selection of miniature handbags, which channel the look of Bottega Veneta’s Knot clutch. However, the clutches from Alexander McQueen clearly emphasize the brand’s famed peculiarity, as the clutches are adorned with the notorious skull.
While accessories in the fashion world — like clutches — are often imitated, they are never duplicated. Both brands experiment with the same square structure, yet result in two totally different visions of clutches: One that is classic Bottega Veneta, and one that screams McQueen.
The final question: Which clutch do you prefer? Refresh your memory of Bottega Veneta’s Knot clutches here, and check out Alexander McQueen’s spring 2012 clutches after the jump…

Fashion Exhibitions On the Rise
Designers showcasing their impressive collections in museums is a growing trend. Alexander McQueen was an indicator of how popular fashion exhibitions have the potential to be, attracting 661,559 visitors and placing it in the top ten of the most visited exhibitions.
According to Pamela Goblin, chief curator of fashions and textiles at the Louvre, "There's a loyal following - besides the fact that fashion is fashionable ... there's something very intimate about clothes."
Other fashion houses that have participated in showing their work in museums include Ralph Lauren, Max Mara, Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Chanel.
Jean Paul Gaultier showed his work in Texas, where the exhibition featured pieces from his collections over a 20-year time period. The exhibition was digitally innovative and included talking mannequins.
When showing work in a museum, you can utilize space differently and include items such as sketches, inspirations, videos, and actual pieces from the collections, to give viewers a cohesive image.

Don’t Sweat It
You’ve got three days to relax and lick your Black Friday wounds until the work week begins again. But before you whip out your old-school Juicy tracksuit, consider adding another loungewear item to your wardrobe (preferably one not made out of velour). Swap out your sweats for a stylish yet cozy pant, like this elastic-waist pair from Iro Lea. The best part about this pick? The ruching around the waist will mask your post-Thanksgiving, er, “bloat,” while the tapered skinny leg adds a chic (and flattering) touch so you can laze about in style―and yes, they’re dressy enough to wear on the job tomorrow.
Wouldn’t dare part with terrycloth? Madewell also tried its hand at dressing up the sweatpant, with a sexy/slouchy pair in space-dye charcoal. This pant comes equipped with designer details, like zippers at the ankles that you can adjust over your slippers, so you can tuck in some more Tryptophan-filled foods and hit the couch, or even throw on a button-down and venture out. (Who knows? You might run out of ice cream.) And don’t toss out that tracksuit just yet―it may come in handy next Halloween (think: throwback J. Lo!).

Versace’s Spring Awakening
If you’ve been in an eBay-bid frenzy ever since Donatella Versace for H&M debuted, you can finally step away from the mouse — there’s no longer a need to spend a month’s rent on that gold-studded leather dress. (Though, okay, it would probably be worth it.) Despite the fact that most stores have already sold out, apparently there’s more where that came from — or at least there will be in February, when the spring 2012 line is set to launch.
Will Donatella outdo herself, or will this be the collaboration’s sophomore slump? You can decide for yourself, thanks to a sneak peek courtesy of Mirror UK. The teaser pieces feature a softer color palate of on-trend pastels and showcase bold prints that incorporate designs from the fall collection, like the graphic fruit design already spotted on the line’s shorts, strappy sandals, and bathing suits. But if the recent premiere taught us anything, the competition over these coveted items will be fierce. (Case in point: Two store security guards in Hong Kong were actually sent to the hospital after a line-cutting scuffle) Your best bet might be to get in line now — Occupy H&M, anyone?

Oxfords With a Reflection of Style
Cole Haan delivers style; we can state that as fact. But there hasn't been too much risk-taking, as far as design is concerned. However, we have seen glimpses of creative potential in Cole Haan's polychromatic saddle oxfords. The introduction of their new "Reflective" Jayhawker Wingtip is a bit of creative flex, showcasing the lifestyle brand's design that is often neglected. The shoe is made with a synthetic reflective upper construction, a wingtip accent, and brogue punching that creates one of a kind footwear.

Yellow Diamonds In the Light
At an auction in Geneva last week, the Sun-Drop Diamond sold for more than $10.9 million. Weighing in at 110.3 carats, the massive pear-shaped yellow diamond was found last year in South Africa, adding more to its value since there were no previous owners.
There are only about half a dozen people in the world who are able to participate in auctions when diamonds enter the multi-million dollar price range. For the rest of us who aren't lucky enough to have vast bank accounts, precious gemstones are a great alternative to expensive diamonds.
Gemstones like amethyst and quartz range in cut, size, clarity, and color, and they are used to create attractive jewelry combinations and unique styles. Since they are extremely durable and flexible enough to wear for any occasion, they have proven to be great investment pieces. While gemstones may not have the coveted status of diamonds, they're evergreen staples that certainly deserve a place in your jewelry box.

Valentino to Launch Online Museum
Valentino and business partner Giancarlo Giammetti plan to expand their work by tapping into the internet world.
The downloadable desktop application will be called the Valentio Garavani Virtual Museum, which will be the first of its kind. Today, the Valentino Garavani website went live, offering a short video of what is to come in the next few weeks. The official launch is Dec. 5, when individuals will have a glimpse into the world of the designer, who retired from his fashion house in 2008.
Valentino says, “I am happy that thousands of students, young designers, and fashion people will be able to see and study my work in every aspect of it, and in a manner easy and accessible for the younger generations. But it is also important to remember things of the past, to review the fashion that has shaped our lives. I would call it ‘Future Memory.’”
Both Valentino and Giammetti will be in New York on Dec. 5, to help with the "opening" of the museum.

Matt Bernson's Stylish, Walkable Heels
Matt Bernson's fall/winter collection is to die for. His designs are always chic, simple, and just a bit tomboy. Not to mention they're actually comfortable enough for some serious walking.
If you're looking for a non-UGG(ly) shearling boot, check out these boots and these other boots, too!. Both claim to be hard-working snow boots, and the non-skid soles are genius.
His flats have proven not to pinch at the heel. Or, as Mr. Bernson calls it, the "dreaded cobra bite."
The Mesa and Jardin boots are perfect for the workplace or date night. Pair them with skinny jeans or a cute skirt.
Can we just say give a huge thanks to Matt Bernson for making stylish shoes that women can actually walk in?

Model Watch Monday: Hungarian Hunk Sven Csongar
Starting our week off, we've got Hungary-born model Sven Csongar. Scouted by Wam Models in Budapest on his way home from water polo practice, this one is a sure find! Already testing with many agency-favorite photographers in Hungary, his book makes him ready for the international markets. His dream job is to shoot for Abercrombie, and we're pretty sure that dream is going to come true in the near future; with his athletic body and all-American looks, he'd seem like the perfect fit. However, this one can definitely morph into other brands, as well, like Gucci and Versace.
It's that boyish pout and strong build that's going to take him far. Soul, let us know when he's in town — we're hoping New York City is on his itinerary, and we'll be waiting.

Tokyo Fashion Week
Japan Fashion Week has yet to part from its creativity and edginess amidst the difficult times underway in Tokyo. "All of the collections gave the very distinct impressions that the designers were each possessed with a completely unique vision for fashion," Models.com's David and Danny Roberts said.
According to the Roberts, every individual show was a perfect representation of the particular vision, and everything from the music to the venue and the lighting corresponded accordingly.
However, one theme seemed to recur throughout it all: moving forward. As the designers fell back on the rich Japanese heritage and strength in classic aesthetics, an evident embrace of the future's holding shone through with designers, including Araisara, Everlasting Sprout, Keita Maruyama, Phenomenon, and Somarta.

Veiled Enthusiasm
Mourning the loss of the Marc Jacobs collection? Instead of opting for a classic, all-black ensemble, consider showing your sorrow with a modern-day veil. This ladylike look, which the New York Times notes as "usually reserved for religious ceremonies, goth brides and Daphne Guinness," is sure to be a top trend this spring. Perhaps a slightly more subtle answer to the Royal Wedding’s famous fastener hats, veils may become a street-style sensation faster than you can say “fedora.”
But, before you go out and buy a Lady Gaga-esque full-face net, take a look at Stephen Jones’s fifties-style veiled beanies for Jil Sander for inspiration (pictured above in blue)—they're much more “sight to be seen” than “beekeeper.” This cap, which was shown in several colors on the Milan runway, will actually be produced and sold in stores next spring. Can’t wait that long? We won’t judge if you decide to swing by a bridal store.

Tom Ford's Disaster Spring Line
Surprisingly known as a nightmare, Tom Ford's spring 2012 collection has been released for all to make the final call. There's a picture-by-picture gallery of Ford's new line, which has been inspired by what he's known for: ruched dresses and feminine fur jackets. With a focus that is evidently old-fashioned, Ford wanted to stick to the classic side of style in his new collection.
"I don't want to do trendy collections that swing around from season to season," Ford says. "I want to do things that will stay in a woman's wardrobe a long time — quite 'forever' pieces. So I'm looking for consistency."
The Tom Ford "classic" is self-defined as a blouse with a loose, slouchy quality, something fitted at the waist, and a wedge with a chain strap. Take a look at the line, and let us know if you think it's a forever or a for-never line to remember.

While cold weather brings out the cute, chunky knits and amazing boots to play, it also brings out the worst in our skin — especially our lips! If you're thinking of giving some hot-hued lipstick a try this season (and, really, why wouldn't you?) then the first step to achieving a picture-perfect pout is a moisturized kisser. But it's a real pain in the you-know-what to constantly have to play switcheroo between your lipstick and your chapstick all day. Remedy your chapped lips this winter with a little "Lip Love," courtesy of Urban Decay.
At $16 a pop — total steal, we know!— you can have silky smooth lips and delicious color all in one product. The honey-infused lipgloss yields baby's bum-smooth application and a vibrant color. Choose between Drizzle (pale pink), Failbait (peach), Lolita (bright clear pink), Stung (berry), and Taunt (nude), or just get all of them and call it a day! These babies are also the perfect little stocking stuffers for your friends. Visit Sephora in-store or online to pick up your very own pretty pout.

Charming Accessories
For ages, snakes have been highly respected creatures; they're viewed as mythical figures, and they're even the focus of worship for some cultures. The slithering reptile embodies a number of characteristics, including the powers of balance, rejuvenation, and wisdom. So it's no surprise that wearing a snake-themed accessory may radiate these qualities for the wearer, resulting in an aura of glorified confidence.
Not your typical arm candy, snake motif jewelry is an exotic way to accessorize any outfit. Whether you prefer a snake that's strictly made of metal or one that's peppered with precious gems, all will provide edginess that you might not have had with the usual bling. With pieces available at multiple price points from Betsey Johnson to Emilio Pucci, everyone can be a snake charmer this spring.
Check out some of the many sparkling serpents on the market after the jump...

STOLEN: Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2012
Marc Jacobs's spring/summer 2012 collection was stolen while being transferred from Paris. Yesterday, there was a scheduled press preview which had to be cancelled due to the unfortunate news.
Marc Jacobs emailed a press release that stated:
"Dear all, the Marc Jacobs PR team is sorry to inform you that our press day in Marc Jacobs store [in London] is cancelled, due to the theft of the spring/summer 2012 collections during its transfer from Paris."
The robbery took place on London's Mount Street, where thieves stole the entire 46-piece collection. It is believed that the thieves are counterfeiters and that the designs will soon be popular knockoffs.
Although the theft of a collection sounds rare, this is not the first time it has occurred. In 2007, Christoper Kane's entire spring/summer 2008 collection was stolen and, in 2009, Victoria Beckham reportedly had $552,000 worth of dresses stolen en route to Neiman Marcus New York.

GANT Rugger + NOVH Holiday 2011
GANT Rugger has collaborated with Tumblr-hypeman Noah Emrich of NOVH to create a vision of their holiday 2011 collection. The holiday collection has just arrived in stores, and we decided to take a look at the collection for ourselves with an afternoon visit to the GANT flagship store on Fifth Avenue in NYC.Michael Bastian has truly designed some great pieces — Fair Isle sweaters, puffer vests, flannel shirts, oxford shirts, scarves, and knitted hats. Everything is wonderful and beautiful. How could we have left the store and not purchased something? We didn't. Flannel shirts on deck.

Daphne Guinness Admires Grunge, Hates Blue Jeans
Daphne Guinness is one of fashion's most favored individuals, so when she shares her thoughts, all ears zero in on what she has to say. The heiress recently revealed her disliking of blue jeans — she just despises the color, and prefers to see black jeans instead.
It's fascinating to realize that the millionaire is actually quite shy in reality, despite her outrageous apparel, quixotic hair, and admired way of carrying herself. She's careful about what she says, and cautious about what she admits to the public; she understands that irony can be miscommunicated when it's in print.
Ms. Guinness has recently been churning out interviews, which have included topless photos of herself. Three in particular were published yesterday, and a surprising amount of what she had to say explains why she generally steers clear of interviews and press-type things. "The meaning of what you say can be misunderstood ... I've been really upset sometimes when I've been misquoted," she says. Later, she concludes, "I never read gossip press. I just read books. And I never switch on the TV anymore."
On fashion trends today, she states, "At the moment, we're just endlessly recycling the past. There hasn't been anything real since grunge." Do you agree or disagree?

Altuzarra Wins CFDA Competition
In hindsight, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) winners and nominees often seem so easy to single out, and this year was no different. Nominees Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind seemed like obvious choices, given their recent work and ever-growing acclaim — Creatures of the Wind was featured on WWD’s June 2008 cover, just one year after its conception, and Pamela Love’s unique pieces were received with a cult-clamoring frenzy. This year’s winner seems even more obvious.
Launching only three years ago, Joseph Altuzarra has officially claimed his status as golden boy — a status that's been officially sealed by this year’s steady stream of rave reviews. Known for ultramodern, functional clothing, Altuzarra’s most recent show was considered a complete "about face" for the somewhat still-fledgling brand. (That’s not to say his other collections haven’t been well received.) With Altuzarra's spring 2012 collection, critics have given strong footing for a promising future. Of course, the CFDA win and accompanying $300,000 can’t hurt either.

Lyrical Lockets by Erica Weiner
There's no need to peek at the screen the next time you’re doing karaoke — jewelry designer Erica Weiner has got you covered. Her latest creation, the Heartbeats Necklace, is a seemingly simple locket that's hand-stamped with quirky song lyrics, courtesy of Morrissey, Parton & Rogers, Fleetwood Mac, and, yes, R. Kelly (we hope that you recognized the above verse from “Ignition (Remix)”). These tongue-in-cheek 16” necklaces come in both oxidized silver and a bling-tastic 14-karat gold, which suggests that Weiner had more than one R&B inspiration.
If anyone has lyrics that should be etched on your heart, it’s R. Kelly. But Weiner has a back-up plan in case you don’t share her musical tastes. Her vintage seventies Sweetheart Necklace, which comes in a charmingly warped brass, can be customized with whatever words you like (T.I. lyrics, perhaps?). Available online and at her eponymous New York City store, we suggest you lock down these heart necklaces quickly — we think they'll fly off shelves.

YSL Tuxedo Mani
Be fierce with a couture-inspired manicure, courtesy of Yves Saint Laurent. Introducing the "Tuxedo Manicure" — matte black nail beds with black, glossy tips. Perfect for a night out and chic for everyday wear, this is the ultimate nail statement, and the much needed replacement for the overdone "shatter" trend. This monochromatic look is inspired by the luxurious combination of black silk on black wool (a.k.a. the YSL tuxedo), and we have to say that we're DYING to give our nails this treatment.
Visit Neiman Marcus in-store or online to purchase the noir duo, priced at $30 each, and amp up the luxury factor by decking out your hands with gold accessories.

Mustache Chic
Once considered a fuzzy faux pas, donning a mustache is now the growing trend (no pun intended) for males and females alike. While growing facial hair may be off-limits for the ladies, accessorizing with a mustache is most certainly not. Thanks to the collaboration between the Snyder sisters, who are behind the jewelry label Dannijo, and Leandra Medine, the voice of the Man Repeller, us ladies can now be au courant with the mustached mania.
Wearing mustaches as accessories is another means of incorporating male character into female style. Back in August of this year, Dannijo and the Man Repeller teamed up to launch Mr. Dannijo, a collection of spunky, menswear-inspired jewelry. What's special about the collection is its innovative approach on menswear. Traditional menswear pieces are those that men already wear, like blazers or watches, and are then recreated for women. However, the pieces that make up Mr. Dannijo are jewelry in which male motifs are simply inspiration. The collection redefines menswear as the introduction of masculine embellishments to feminine accessories.
No other piece in the collection fully embodies this notion of menswear and the mustache trend better than "Salvador." Mr. Dannijo's most popular piece combines facial hair and jewelry in a creative way, sans fuzz. Available in brass or silver, this unexpectedly chic mustache will be your companion during Movember, and it will allow you to stay trendy this season while saving the stubble for your better half.

Black On Black
There's something to be said for an all-black ensemble. Doesn't it always look put together, classy, and chic?
With winter approaching, we tend to reach for dark neutrals, even though "experts" tell us to mix in a pop of color. But what do they know?
Here's how to do it right:
1. An all black ensemble calls for sexy footwear, but...
2. If sexy footwear isn't gonna cut it at the workplace, opt for flats or wedges.
3. Dying to throw in a pop of color? Add some color with shoes, jewelry, or a fun scarf.
4. A faded black against a true black looks a bit sloppy. Check the colors in natural light to see if you match up.
5. Look polished with a sleek ponytail or an elegant up-do.
6. Keep your makeup clean and simple, but...
7. Now is the time for bright red lipstick!

Calvin Klein Gets Colorful
Calvin Klein presented its spring 2012 collection last week, and monotone seems to have been the theme. Supermodels strutted down the runway in shades of coral, aqua, and red; solid yellow skinny jeans; and suits paired with contrasting colors, such as red with orange.
The collection also offered a burst of summery brights, perfect for warm weather. With white pants, all-white suits, and other breezy, cool alternatives — including a long, seventies-chic shirt-dress piece — Calvin Klein will make this spring a comfy one.
The collection is full of outfits that are perfect for a nice summer day in the city, or to wear on vacation. Paired with flats and raffia bags on the runway, the pieces are definitely wearable fashion that we're certain we'll see a lot of come spring 2012.

I'm so excited for this week — the Versace for H&M collection is coming to stores, and I can't wait to buy the studded leather jacket. I think it's perfect for my style :)
The weather is getting worse and worse near me. There's lots of rain, and it's getting colder as the days go by. Actually, time is passing by really fast — we only have a month until Christmas! (One of my favorite holidays of the year.)
This week's look is easy breezy. The top is from Thailand Market, the skirt is vintage, and the wedges are Kurt Geiger.
Well, have a great week!

Chelsea Lately
Ever since Paul Smith sent models down the runway in patent red Chelsea boots for his spring 2012 collection, we’ve been on the lookout for the perfect women’s version of this classic men’s shoe. While boyfriends’ closets are usually gold mines for comfy oversized sweaters and crisp white button downs — well, once we’re done ironing them — no amount of rolling up or pinning can make your guy’s shoe fit (and hey, who wants to date a man with the same size shoe as you?).
That’s why Messeca’s Juliana Bootie is such a fab find. Not only does it exclusively come in women’s sizes, but it also has a polished wood platform heel that takes the androgynous Chelsea look to another level (six inches higher, that is). Pair with tights and a mini to add a tough rock 'n' roll vibe to a soft, feminine look, or wear with jeans and a rainy weather–ready coat to channel your inner Londoner (destination: Abbey Road). Our only request: Can it come in red?

Neon Slacks and Jean Jackets
Designer Christopher Kane has presented his new J Brand line to be displayed at Barneys on Thursday, Nov. 10. The DayGlo-tastic collection is said to be synonymous with "neon," according to Style.com, and it consists of shorts and long flares in colors like highlighter yellow, bubble-gum pink, and safety-zone orange.
DayGlo-tastic also entails corresponding cropped jean jackets to be paired with the neon slacks. The entire line can be found at Barneys, with all pieces under $300 — not too bad!
Jeff Rudes, founder and CEO of J Brand, interviewed Kane, discussing topics like TV, fast food, and of course his forte, the fashion world. The designer described women from his native home of Scotland as his inspiration due to the fact that, "They aren't even trying," Kane said.
The full Christopher Kane for J Brand collection can be viewed here, courtesy of Style.com. Will you be sporting this neon apparel in the near future? We think the edgy style is worth trying out.

Grunge Style Icon: Amy Blue

The Hair— Pin straight and flawlessly coiffed, Amy's jetty bob was both timeless but edgy. Use a round brush to blow your hair straight and curl the ends under slightly to create a bob effect. For shorter hair, use a dollop of styling gel or mousse to hold hair in place for a clean look.
The Face— Amy's retro-inspired makeup is both simple and sexy. Her creamy complexion can be achieved by applying a light foundation and setting with mineral powder. Use a liquid or gel eyeliner and brush to line your upper eyelid with a medium to thick line, flicking out the ends to create a cat-eye effect. Finish with a red lip color suited to your skin tone (blue tones for lighter complexions, orange-pink tones for darker).
The Dress— With a wardrobe of diamante-studded, cat-eye sunglasses, a see-through plastic rain coat, and an array of black mini dresses, Amy is the envy of any fashion fiend. Score vintage and charity shops for a pair of basic black Levi's, Doc Marten boots, and floral mini dresses to recreate her aesthetic of punky pin-up.

Sunglass Hut Gets Warm And Fuzzy
Magda Sayeg, the brains behind KNITTA and the founder of Knitta Please, is famously known as the "mother of yarn bombing." Originating in the United States, what started out as wrapping yarn on a doorknob has since expanded into a world-wide movement. As a result, colorfully knitted fixtures are popping up everywhere, from Australia to Rome, and altering global landscapes.

Spinning yarn on new territory (fashion accessories), Sayeg has teamed up with Sunglass Hut to produce a crafty collection of yarn-bombed frames. On Tuesday, the sunglasses superstore launched its 4th annual Artist Series Collection in collaboration with KNITTA, presenting a line of limited-edition shades. Each knit-wrapped pair is one-of-a-kind, signed and numbered by Sayeg herself. Best of all, $30 of your purchase will be donated to OneSight, an
international organization dedicated to providing vision care to those
in need.
More than an art project gone wild, Sayeg's work serves as a refreshing reminder that we have the power to beautify our world through creative expression. Adding intimate elements to urban places (or objects) gives off a humanizing effect, which is something we all can appreciate. Now, you too can be a part of the viral phenomenon and see the world through a different lens — one that's yarn-bombed.

On the First Day of Gaga....
This week marked the kick-off of the "12 Days of Gaga," a holiday extravaganza sponsored by Barneys New York.
For twelve days, Gaga’s little monsters will be able to purchase limited edition merchandise, sold only on the day it's featured. The "12 Days of Gaga" leads up to the opening of Gaga’s Workshop on Nov. 21 at exactly 11:59 p.m.. Barneys transformed the entire fifth floor of the men’s store at their Madison Avenue flagship location into eight different shops. Shops include the candy shop, toy shop, closet (clothing and accessories), library (books, CDs, media, and paper goods), gallery (collectibles and specialty items), jewelry, boudoir (candles and cosmetics), and holiday.
Gaga’s workshop is a creation of Lady Gaga, Eli Sudbrack, Christophe Hamaide Pierson, Nicola Formichetti, and Barneys Creative Director Dennis Freedman. Of course, holiday seasons bring holiday windows, and Barneys will be unveiling the Lady Gaga–themed window alongside the launch of Gaga's Workshop.
Monsters can enter to win a chance to attend Gaga’s Workshop, and a quarter of all sales will be donated to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, which focuses on youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, anti-bullying, well-being, mentoring, and career development.

Summer Pieces to Wear This Winter
For most of us, the change of seasons is the perfect excuse for clothes shopping. It's too cold for summer's tank tops, and last year's jumper is pilled and paltry. Sadly, for a lot of us, buying a new wardrobe every time the temperature changes is simply unrealistic. But that doesn't mean we have to resort to hiding underneath a gargantuan parka all winter. Instead, we can reinvent our wardrobe by taking pieces from past seasons and styling them into fresh, new looks.
Maxi Dress — Long, airy, and often sleeveless, this dress is the veritable go-to on hot, summer days (and nights). Easily dressed up or down, it is a truly effortless piece. To transition your favorite maxi into winter, layer it over a pair of tights and a cropped, pull-over sweater to show off the body of the dress.
Cut-Offs — We all own a pair. Whether we like them super short or loose and casual, cut-off shorts are classic summer apparel. And, with the right accessories, you can show them off during the winter months, too. To balance out the skimpiness of the shorts, try wearing them with an oversized sweater or a boyfriend cardigan. Sleek black tights and structured black boots complete the winter grunge look.
Open-Toed Wedges — Open-toed shoes are not something that we normally think of wearing when it's freezing out. (Frostbitten toes don't exactly scream chic.) But summer wedges don't have to walk to the back of the closet just yet. When worn with thick tights or a pair of colorful socks, a sexy peep-toed effect is created that livens up any outfit.*
*NOT recommended in the snow!

Saddle Up In These Western Shirts
Sometimes sport shirts risk becoming mundane and uniform, and while that’s not necessarily a setback, it should be a concern. Our suggestion? Get yourself a western or work shirt from Ralph Lauren.
Remember the days of your youth playing cowboys and Indians? Well, these shirts are akin to that, except the Indians are actually beautiful women and you’re sitting down to break bread, not make war. These shirts are vintage-inspired, western workwear looks garrisoned for the modern man. All are available at polo.com. Yippie-Ki-Yay!
