Known to the world over for taming the mane of many of fashions hottest stars, Christiaan Houtenbos, is can now consider himself as more than a hairdresser, a fragrance influence.“Mister Marvelous” by Byredo Parfums is christening Houtenbos as the first ever Mister Marvelous, the namesake for their newest fragrance. The fragrance is a mix of bamboo, green lavender, mandarin leaf and black amber, that even the muse himself uses.
What makes Houtenbos such a good icon to be associated with this new fragrance? His body of work is more than enough proof. From working with the likes of Calvin Klein and Yves Saint Laurent, and styling the hair for magazines like V, W, and Vogue. Even the icon that is Grace Jones owes the famous flat top to Houtenbos. His early years were made in the salon at Bergdorf Goodman, but then he exploded. Working with the icons like Twiggy, Candice Bergen, and Donna Mitchell. After working with Calvin Klein for most of the 70’s, Houtenbos switched to Rei Kawakubo during the 80’s, then disappeared from the fashion show scene.
The fragrance inspired by this icon will hit the shelves at Barney’s next month, so be on the look out for this new fragrance that can make one feel like a superstar.
