While fearless fashion leaders were purchasing must-have Louboutins of the moment, others were splurging on the most expensive fashion items of 2011. As the year comes to an end, it's only right to review these extravagant items. The pieces range from Marilyn Monroe's iconic white dress to 24-karat gold shoelaces.

If one extremely wealthy individual were to purchase all of these fun fashion items, the total would come to $8,428,535. That is equivalent to 9,745 Yves Saint Laurent pumps (averaging $845 a pair), 4,447 Chloe Marcie totes (averaging $1,895 a bag), and 46,825 J Brand skinny jeans (averaging $180 a pair). For $8,428,535, you could have ten insanely expensive items, or 61,107 affordable must-have fashion pieces.
