Perfect Red Lip for the Holidays

A classic red lip is a great accessory for your holiday outfits this season. It's visually stunning and can take your look to the next level instantly. The challenges that come with finding the perfect red and wearing it are not ideal. People may shy away from this timeless look because the lipstick gets all over everything (glasses, teeth, and whoever you may kiss under the mistletoe), but knowing the tricks of the trade, any fabulous individual can work a red lip at the drop of a dime.

Giorgio Armani makeup guru Tim Quinn offers a few tips on creating your red lip. Apply the lipstick with a brush for more control and precise application. Adding a dab of lip gloss adds a bit of shine and a more sheer effect. Use concealer along the lip line as a cleanup and way to highlight the lip. A touch at the center of your Cupid's Bow (the little indentation above your upper lip) adds extra dimension. If you anticipate sipping holiday rum punch, skip the gloss and wear a long-lasting lip color. Or if you're feeling fancy, sip through a straw like the runway models backstage.
